

Zeta Chi's most famous alumna
is Maria Maunder, '92. Maria rowed for Western's Women's Crew
team while she was a student and undergraduate member of Zeta
Chi Chapter. She and her teammates on the Canadian Women's
Eight Crew brought SILVER back to Canada from the 1996 Summer
Olympiad in Atlanta. Maria truly lives the Alpha Gamma Delta
Purpose "To develop and prize health and vigor of body".

Maria is shown here as the guest speaker at International
Reunion Day for Zeta Chi March 1998. She earned her MBA at
Concordia in Montreal, Quebec. She is Marketing Manager for
eNorthern Online Investing, based out of Toronto Canada.
Maria won a Sport Newfoundland
and Labrador Scholarship in 1998. Maria is a native of Pouch
Cove, NF.
Maria
has been swimming for seven years (starting in Ridley College)
but it is her 10 years of rowing that has brought her significant
recognition. Maria has rowed in the Olympic Games, the Commonwealth
Games, the World Championships, the World's University Games
and numerous well known regattas. In the Olympic Games, Maria
was a silver medalist in the Women's Eight. At the head of
the Charles Regatta she was a gold medalist in Women's Championship
Singles. At the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta, Maria took
gold in both the women's singles and doubles.
She is
shown below with a student from a Newfoundland elementary
school. She gave the school children a motivational talk about
setting goals. They were learning about the Olympics in preparation
for the Nagano games in 1998.
